you only have 998 rms your close :thefinger: lol

hahaha..not...im at liek 1600rms/3000peak

I wouldn't say that much RMS wattage, but with all three of those amps, I would say it's likely you're over 1,000 RMS if you are running 1 ohm.

Are you only using a single 4 gauge wire to power all of that?

Pete

come on now...i have a 0awg with a 350a fuse from the batt that splits into two 4awg and one 8awg...thinkin its goin to be time to get a h.o alt and possibly a yellowtop optima

im runnin the memphis's at 1ohm, so thats 1000rms right there, not includin the 4channel

How do I get a badge I am Installing 2 Audioque HCD3 10's and 2 of their AQ1200D amps. I already have a high amp alternator and a stinger battery. I will be running my
amps at one Ohm. I cann't wait to get them IN i had 1 of their 15's and an AQ2200d and it was unbelievable in my old sunfire.

I have to admit that the whole 1000 rmwsgdfq...........etc thing is a tad confusing.

I have been saving my pennies, who has the baddest system on here currently? I want to know who to beat....... lol

Frank

I think I'm going to go with two 15in subs. and I dunno from there.......... prolly a single massive amp.
Then i guess I'll need a tweater box.
I have all that extended cab space...... so I want to use and abuse it.
what else will be involved? i found a "guy that can get things"
and an out of work electrician that could use a 50 spot.

Would I be eligible for the badge with this amp and this sub.

Looks like that's all peak power rating. Usually if it's RMS rating, it is specificed. If it's not, it's safe to assume that it is peak power. Peak power is a worthless figure.

As for the badge, personally I won't use it until my system is actually installed and working. Same w/ V8 badge, engine is in, but I am not not done hooking up stuff yet and I need to run exhaust and get a drive shaft cut down.

I always thought RMS was the worthless figure?

>.<

God, Amps are so confusing.

I was going to wire it up for 2ohm to begin with anyway. And put in a nice 10.

quite the opposite, peak is worthless you should compare rms figures when matching equipment. Any reason why you want 2 ohms? if your subs are capable of being wired down to a 1 ohm final load it will be easier finding higher powered amp unless you already have the subs and they can only be wired down to 2 ohms.

Subs are typically cheaper when they have less power. I'm on a tight budget.

I've got a little amp for sale, it's like a 330, I dont' even know what they're worth I ran it in my 88 with a 12 in sub, and a gigantic tweater box.....

OK, well I've got the ball rolling, I have several hundred dollars for a new system.
And I have a friend that works in an audio store that can get me half price equipment with a warranty....

I just have to pick a set-up and tell him what I want, which I have no idea of. I was thinking 2 15's, he says 2 12's would probably kill me inside a ranger...... I dunno.

Frank

Perhaps this gear will qualify me:

Head Unit Sony Cdxc90
Processor Sony xdp210eq
4ch amp JBL px300.4 121.5wpc/rms @4ohm
Mono amp JBL bpx1100.1 1141wrms @4ohm

I'm using Alpine spx177a in the front doors, no rears.
my sub is a Jbl p1020 in a .85 cubic foot sealed enclosure.
