My '77 F100 had a D44 rear.

Back then, I was the only one with a pickup at all so I didn't think it was wimpy. Except that back then I shared the gunpark with 65,000# gvw 5-tons and HMMWVs, which at the time I thought were 10x tougher than my F100--but now I know those weren't even trucks at all in comparison with my mighty 6-cylinder F100.

Since when did the F100 not offer a low range?

Every F100 4x4 ive ever seen had the same 2H 4H 4L box as the F150.

later,
Dustin

I had a 76 without it, though it did have a T-18 with the 6.xx:1 1st gear. Behind it was the D21 (I thought the tag on it said 20? :dunno:, but it was a few years ago), and I was a little surprised when I learned that.

1. 2000 and up (Fugly and expensive to repair if it gets hit)
2. 80's and up mustangs (nearly been ran off the road a couple times from those b@$t@rd$ trying to race me:temper:)
3. Trucks with beds to small to use
4. ANY Ricer
5.Ford Ranger!(lol joke)
the real 5th: 70's-80's full size vans

Reasons
1. Niece crashed into aunts car (Concord?) causing $350 dollars of damage on a bicycle! (Was rolling downhill)
2. always manage to get beside me then notice the oncoming car even if their crossing the double yellows!:annoyed:
3.general uselessness :dunno:
4.try living near the main strip
5. every time I get behind them in my old car they dropped something like the muffler, alternator (and did you know they bounce?), Rad, concrete mix and so on (I'm surprised the olds ran for how much damage it took)
and that's all

wow I feel better!

Dollar for dollar, your Ranger wouldn't touch that car. But it's all about opinion. What is gay to you, is fast and agile to another.

i beg to differ sir:

Dollar for dollar?

You said dollar for dollar. How much does it take to build a b16 swapped honda with 500 horse civic? Garen-freakin-teed I could build a faster ranger with the same budget he built that civic with.

But, since we can't actually have a ranger high budget build off, it's just arguing over the internet :dunno:

True. My buddy has a B16 in his 96 civic...cost him a fortune. He doesn't have 25 lbs of boost through his though. He keeps up with my truck pretty good....but mine is no where near as much as his to build.

With a V8 swap maybe. Of course a welder and some steel could put that engine in a Civic. Whatever though. I know this place is severely biased and I don't expect anyone to be reasonable about the limitations of the domestics.

A 2.3T can cheaply be sourced from a Thunderbird, that will make V-8 power in a smaller and lighter package. Bolts right into a four cylinder truck.

After that the limitations are truck vs car, not import vs domestic. They make the same power as a decent 5.0 stock (200ish), and get scarier from there.

And you call us biased...
