Hey Guys, just did the 1 pc driveshaft swap on my 97 ex-cab 4x4, with one from a 99 4x4 ex-cab. All went great till the test drive. I'm getting a horrible squeak. Its more like a 'torq' squeak. Not like a bind, but maybe over tightened? I wont get a torq wrench till tomorrow so I slipped a pipe over my ratchet to give it a semi good tightening, but I didnt lay into it. Also I installed new u-joints before putting it in. Was I supposed to do something else? I need any ideas I can get. I gotta drive it to work tomorrow and I dont want it to sound like this!!!! Thanks.

OK,..................So I panicked. Nothing a couple of taps with the hammer couldnt fix. I guess it was in a slight bind.

This swap was as easy as it said. And I picked up the '99 1 pc steel shaft for only $40 off of craigslist. The bone yard wanted $250! I also rebuilt my front shaft while I was at it. But I still cant get 4wheel to kick in. I think its the transfer case motor. Im off to test that now.
