So about the middle of the day I jump in my van, start it up and get ready to put it in gear and all of a sudden this old guy in a newer jeep pulls up beside me and rolls down his window. He says "I don't know you or anything but I thought i'd just let you know that the Food Express gas station is selling gas for $1.99." My first thought was WTF. I think about it for a second and then I jump in my F250, grab a bunch of gas cans and head over. The place has four pumps and there was a single line that was almost two blocks long but the funny part was that people weren't realizing that there were four pumps until they got right up to them so almost nobody was using three of the pumps. I take my fill and then I realize that it wouldn't hurt to fill up the van and the Ranger also. When all was said and done I got like almost 85 gallons at $1.99 a gallon. I don't know if the place is going out of business or something but I definitely can't see them selling it for that price when everyone else is 2.50 around here.

i wish we had food express here :(

it's still (+-)2.81 here

were down to on average, 2.25 around here now

still $2.50 something IIR here.

ive only paid less than $2 a gallon one time in my life...$1.99 in anchorage.

They are not going out of business. Cincinnati has gas all over for $1.96 a gallon. I assume it will be less than $2 a gallon nationwide soon.

Its between 2.10 and 2.25 here.

I aint been out this morning but i would venture to guess in certain parts its below 2 bucks.

Yet another post to piss me off. It's still over four bucks here.

Everyone keep being conservative: combining trips, driving small cars if available, carpooling, taking public transit, etc. and the price will go even lower. We reduced demand by over 5% here in the U.S since last year. This is a great way to stick it to OPEC, oil companies, and the government, who gets more tax revenue on a gallon of gas as its price goes up.

Yeh however OPEC is going to be decreasing supply down to bring petrol to around 80-100/barrel and plans on trying to keep it there. Currently it is about 65ish I think. However I agree with Evan 100%. We need to decrease our demand anyways. The days of driving around for no purpose what so ever besides burning fuel are over. As fun as it is to just cruise, I dont think we as a nation can afford it, especially right now!

Gas prices are in freefall because of the world economic situation.

If OPEC raises prices then the economy will continue it's downward spiral.

If its a freefall maybe well say 50 cents a gallon?

Damn that would be nice, fillin my tank for 10 bucks.

I don't know about where you live but here gas is taxed by the gallon so the gov't actually makes more as the price goes down as people tend to drive more and use more gas.

Still about $2.60 here in UT
