1/8 scale solid axle

Just wanted too see what you guys thought. In my spare time Im trying too build an 1/8 scale crawler/monster truck. This is the first part so far.It is the fron differntial and the spindle/steering knuckle. I have it next to a stampede. I still have a lot of work to do. I have supplied power to this one and it works really well.

Yea its got MIP CVDS. I have to machine the steering linckage and the other suspension mount before my fron axle is complete.

looks good. did you turn it on a lathe? or are they 3 different diameter pipes?

Here it is.I could tear it down and show you the inner workings. But I dont want every tom dick and harry knowing how I did this. If you are mechanically inclinded Im sure you can figure it out.I have never been a member of an r/c forum or anything like that. That stampede in the pic is my one and only true hobbey r/c I have ever owned. I like crawlers but can not afford to by something like a killer crawler, but I can build something that will drag one around like a freaking ragdoll. twin 775 series motors at 18 volts(6.0AH)of lithium ion power will do the trick garunteed. I dont know what this thing will way when Im done, and quite frankly I dont care. It should have a top speed of maybee 20mph.

Too answer your question. I have a lathe now,but when I made this all I had was my manual bridgeport mill.

Im glad you guys like it. It was a PITA to make. More Time consmuming than anything because it was all done on a manual machine. I dont even have a Digital Read out on my mill. The front axle is definitly the hardest part I will have to make. The rest of it should go slow but easy. I problably got 40 hours of labor in this one. Now that I know how to make it and have a print it should be easier. I dont know that I want a crawler suspension. I am in the process of figureing out how I will connect suspenion linkage and shocks. The one mount that is on the right axle will need revising. I do like the old school monster trucks.
