Im going to change the fuel filter on my 08 4 liter ranger. I read the howto section about changing the fuel filters on here in the tech library. Everything except the style of fuel clamps on the hoses is the same as shown in the tech section. these clamps arent the spring type shown in the pictures, but rather plastic, almost appearing like electrical terminal connections.
got the filter, being theyre plastic I dont wanna go under the truck and damage the connectors when removing them so can anybody throw some extra info into this as far as
-what type of clamps are they, and which tool do i need. its obvious they dont use the ampro metal pliers shown in the tech forum.
-how to remove them without breaking them, etc....
-the filter isnt screwed down with a tightening clamp, but appears grasped by a set of finger clamps that expand. I would imagine using some picks to loosen them up to get the fuel filter loose after line removal would be the way?
any help appreciated, thanks guys.
