Ive searched the inter webs but couldn't find a definite answer.

I want to put a 2007 b2300 2.3 L engine in my 2002 2.3L ranger.

my engine seized.
this one is cheap.
from the minimal info I could find I think its a direct swap.

could anyone confirm that these are infact the same engine?

They are the same engine, but there may be some differences through that many model years.

Use what came on the old engine if you find any differences.

Same engine, minor differences, nothing that can't be solved with Earl's advice. I know that the MAF sensors are indifferent places, and that the intake manifold is slightly different (improved).. but you can swap intakes / intake manifolds and bolt all the other stuff onto the new block.
