06 ranger sport shifting issues

I have an 06 ranger sport 3.0 auto. It runs decent until I hit about 4500-4800 and then it falls flat and doesnt want to shift. I have to let off just to get it to shift. doesnt matter what gear I am in. does anyone know what might cause this?
