Car worked fine till the other day it wouldn’t start. Corrosion on positive terminal pretty bad so I cleaned it, jumped it off and drove it home. Worked fine for a couple days then does it again. Battery was low so I changed it to one with 800 cc’s. Now sometimes it cranks fine and sometimes it acts like the battery is dead. Radio loses stations, no click from starter. Any ideas?
 
I turned key to on and left it for several minutes to reset alarm. Working now but I have my doubts
 
If there was bad enough corrosion on the battery terminal, it's likely the same corrosion is on the other side.
 
Problem is back. Load tested battery at almost 800cca. nothing. no codes. no nothing. Car was in a bad wreck before I got it. Seems anti theft is culprit but I dont know what to do with it. Any ideas would be appreciated
 
The pats sensor surrounding the ignition lock is a fairly fragile device, and they have been known to be damaged by a hard shock like a significant accident. If it is giving you the signal that it is not reading the key chip, I would consider replacing that sensor.
 
Nothing comes up on scanner. When you turn to start everything dies
 
Something just occurred to me. The previous owner (the crasher) broke a key off in drivers door lock. To deactivate anti theft you have to unlock drivers door with a key. I wonder if this is my issue.
 
PATS security codes wont show up on a scanner. You have to put the key in the ignition, turn to run, and watch the anti theft light. After a minute if there is an issue it will start to flash a sequence, the sequence is the code.
 
ordered a new key barrel for door. they sent me ignition set with dongle. is key set the same? Dont think door uses a chip
 
When I turn key to on there is no anti theft anything blinking. Maybe pats sensor?
 
Car never stalled out. When it runs it runs fine. Since I towed it home nothing. Also taillights all didnt light up
 
Did you ever actually check your ground cable and ground straps? Meaning on the block side, as well as testing for internal corrosion.
 
Yes. Here's a new one. Got in Today and hit key. No start so I held it. 10 seconds later it starts but locked in park. Also right rear lights 2 of 3 don't work but bulbs are good. Car is haunted
