Hey guys been a while since I've been on. Sadly sold my b2. 4.0 swap from 94 explorer with dash and column, 8.8, fm145, into an 86 b2 that was automatic.

I came across a 700$ dollar sport trac that the timing chain guides let loose. Didnt damage the motor but it was full of other nasties. And wasn't worth the rebuild. So I got another motor and rebuilt that one.

Anyways. I was super bummed 😞 when I bought the 3 inch lift torsion keys and installed them only to fine out the cv axle vibrate at 60 due to the extreme angle. So down it went to stock ride height.

So my question is what is exactly involved in a sas whats the best axle. I would thinkna coil setup would be good. Im pretty decent in the fab department. Just need a forum with pics and details on what I need to gather.

Not totally sure on what all is needed. But you need to remove the complete IFS, its actually fun just time consuming. Here are pictures of my 3-link with a D44 from an EB on my Nissan. Depending you may need to move the steering gear forward. I had to move mine as I move the axle forward an inch so the 35s would not hit the front of the cab. I would suggest a crossover hoop for the front towers as well so you don't crack the frame from flexing.

Thats looks great. Im very impressed. Ill be looking for the best parts while I get a second car going so I can park my ST. Your pics give great ideas.

Ok so I've done more research. Im going to go with a dana 30 from a 96 to 01 jeep Cherokee xj or similar. I need to figure out what I'm going to do about steering. Any ideas

Did more research. Seems to me that a 98 jeep grand cherokee has a dana 30 in it and its wheel base is closest to the sport trac. Theres a local yard here that says he has lots of them so im going to check them out.

Update. I found a 97 grand cherokee. Its width is just over the width of a sport trac and that ok. 400$ for a complete donor jeep.

You sold the exact BII that I've been looking for. ugh

If I didn't have so many projects already, I'd build one myself. I have several good bronco II donor trucks.

Any updates to this SAS? I just acquired a 2005 Sport Trac that I want to do similar too down the road. (After the Ranger and BII builds I have going.)
