04-05 Grill for my 2007 Ranger?

Hey all-

I love the look of the 04-06 grills. I just replaced my 2003 Ranger with a 2007. The chrome grill is a bit much for me in the 2007. I can't see any reason why the 2007 Ranger Girll wouldn't accept a 2004-2006 style. All seem to have four 5.5mm bolts on top, with 2 clips at the bottom. I want this grill. Amazon and Ebay list them as "not a fit". Any reason why it wouldn't just bolt on?

I meant to say 04-05 girll.**** The only difference from what I can tell is that it takes a 7" emblem, not a 9".

With that, I would love to know if I can change the Fender "Ranger" emblem from the rectangle '06+ version to the pre '06 version with just the Ranger letters. Does anyone know if those mount holes match up?

That's what I have on mine. It's a direct 2-minute swap. IMO the best-looking front clip was the 01-3, but I didn't want to replace the header panel and hood, so the '04 honeycomb will have to do. I may pick up another one and black out the surround, but I'm not sure.

The '06+ grille isn't terrible, but it was too chrome-y for my taste and I hate how big they made the ford logo - looks out of proportion on a small truck. Definitely a last ditch attempt to try to modernize the Ranger's aging body style with some of the [annoying] blingy "big rig" style that doesn't seem to want to go away, as evidenced by the ugly-as-sin new Silverado HD. Yuck, that truck is ugly as shit and has to be the pinnacle of the "how big can we make a grille" trend. ?

Anyways, rant over, here's my '10 XLT with the grille you want. Note that if you buy the grille on rockauto or amazon, you'll have to order the 7" Ford emblem separately as the 9" emblem from your current grille will not swap.
