'04-'05 FX4 front clip

I am new to this site and this is my first post. I was on EBAY today and found this.

It's the front grill and headlight assembly for an 04-05 Ranger FX4. I am wondering how difficult it would be to put this on my 1998 Ranger 2wd? Any help would be much appreciated.

It's a bolt on but you will also need a hood, drivers side hood hinge and a hood latch.

Link includes header panel, grille, lights and markers. You'll still need all that WVcat noted in the above post.


BTW...that's NOT a 04-05 Fx4 grille either....Fx4 grilles are painted, not chrome. Same grilles as on the Edge models. What's pictured is a normal XLT 4x4 grille.



Other than the other parts you need, it's a total bolt on swap. Did a 01-03 conversion on a 98 last year.

The fenders are the same except you have to drill a hole for the lower header panel bolt. You can see the tab sticking down on the ebay picture.

My '04 FX4 has a chrome outer grille.

I was speaking about the Fx4's that matter(at least to me, lol), the Fx4 Level II. Same grille as an Edge, painted surround. XLT's and Fx4 Off Roads have the grille pictured(chrome)

Jay FX4. What year ranger is pictured in your avatar. It looks awesome. I love the bumper and fender flare. Do you guys know if I can buy that fender flare and what trim package is it for. Or is it part of the fender and I'm just being stupid. Sorry if these questions sound dumb but I am new to this Ranger thing, but I am already hooked.

It's a 2004 FX4. As far as I know, the fender flares are only available on the FX4 models, the non-FX4 4x4's don't have them. It's not part of the fender, just a plastic piece attached to it. Keep in mind that the fenders that have flares have holes right through the sheet metal to attach them. I'm not sure if there's any other way to attach them without drilling. Double-sided tape maybe. The flares on mine were used up until '05. In '06 is when they started using the current huge flares with the fake plastic bolts.
