'04-'05 FX4 front clip

Flares on Jay's truck are standard on 01-05 4x4 XLT styleside flares. Same flares came on the styleside Edge(2wd or 4wd) package trucks, but are smooth and color matched to the body. Styleside is comparable to fleetside, aka, flat bed sides.

They will mount right up to 93-00 factory flare truck's fender holes. As Jay said above, mounting may be weird for a truck that doesn't have flares from the factory. Maybe some 3M tape to adhere to the body, then on the fender lip facing the wheel, the standard christmas tree push in fasteners. Couple 98-00's guys over at RF are running the 01-05 flares on their trucks....they look ALOT cleaner without that built-in mudflap.

You can run Jay's bumper too if you wanted to....it's a straight up bolt-on mod. You'll just need everything from the frame forward(bumper, bumper brackets, reinforcement brackets, valence, fogs). 01-05 upper bumpers are the same...if you want fogs, get either an 'edge'(paintable) or '4x4'(chrome) model bumper, then the valence, either textured for XLT or smooth/paintable for the Edge. 01-03 have round fogs, 04-05 have square fogs.

It's a 2004 FX4. As far as I know, the fender flares are only available on the FX4 models, the non-FX4 4x4's don't have them. It's not part of the fender, just a plastic piece attached to it. Keep in mind that the fenders that have flares have holes right through the sheet metal to attach them. I'm not sure if there's any other way to attach them without drilling. Double-sided tape maybe. The flares on mine were used up until '05. In '06 is when they started using the current huge flares with the fake plastic bolts.

Oops, I forgot about the Edge flares. I guess I wasn't thinking about the color-keyed flares in my response, but I should have mentioned that. Thanks for adding that.

i just did the 4x4/edge 01-03 bumper for my 99, looks awesome
i liked the 04 valance, but getting squared fogs would be a pita so i went for round ones(putting em on tuesday, the bull bar also)
i couldnt find a textured valance so i had to take the paintable one
lucky me it has a nice deep gray/blackish color.

the argentinian ranger had a cool valance that had a lil line in the middle to divide it, and paint the upper side, but i couldnt get one lol

yeah u can, but ull need the fenders, and all the parts posted up here.

He'd also need a radiator core support and a hood and fenders no matter what. Also, he'd need new frame horns for the bumper.





I like the look of the white bumper and the black valence!! Did you get the outer bumper supports? Look like triangle pieces? Reason I say that is that it looks like the bumper has some 'tweak' to it as-is right now. You can loosen some bolts up and fix that 'droop' it's got on the passenger side. I just did it on mine..fixed my tree accident on the trail from the frew years back.

Yeah....that Argentinian is the same as the Mexican valence..I REALLLLLY REALLY want one of those!! It's like a mixuture between a 01-03 US and 04-05 US spec valence.

thanks man!! yeah it really looks nice, i dont have the triangle pieces u say, im gonna mod the old bumper support brackets to fit this one, the ones that cross the bumper top/bottom, cuz this one feels like waving when u pull the corners.
i just bolted it and tried to level a bit that day, im gonna finish it this week, im gonna levl it and raise it a bit more.

i would like to see the pics u say, please post em.
and yeah the latin american valence rocks! i saw a 99 ranger whti that one over here, the guy has a red truck, so he painted it half red, and bottom gray stock color, looks awesome, shame i couldnt get one. it has some covers for the fog light holes, in case u dont have the fogs yet lol.

easy. not that hard at all...striaght up bolt on. you'll need all the same parts that the thread starter needs except the headlights and corners and headlight 'sliders'/retainers. You've already got those.

ive got an idea!!! get a old crappy 95 ranger for like 500+ that runs and drives... put a 09 grille on it with the new tailgate.. bring it to ford and trade it in for brand new ranger .... or sell it for $8000+ (clean it up of course)
