I want to replace my existing Taillights Assy (Stop/Directional/Park in one bulb) with the three part units from 1998, Separate Directionals in the Amber section.
I have the taillights and I know I can take the existing wire from the brake/turn signal and use it for just the signals if I disconnect the brake light wire at the brake light switch BUT...
To get a new signal to the Brake lights I need to run a wire from the brake light switch to the brake light connection on the new taillights, sounds easy right.
My problem starts here, if I take the existing brake light wire off of the load side of the brake light switch, will this cause any other systems in the vehicle to go bonkers.
My first thoughts are the ABS, the Shift lock in an automatic (mine is a 5 sp but) and maybe others.
If this wire is connected to other systems, is there a way around it ?
Thanks a head of time.
