Transmission
Automatic
Hello, I am going to look at a 2003 B3000, extended cab, 3.0 automatic. It has high miles (234000) and about 80k on the dealer replaced trans. It was used to commute with. Do these vulcans have a reputation for going much over 200k? Also how are these trans in general if its not being abused? Its a really clean truck and I am very interested. Just wondering if there are any glaring issues I should check for. Thank you guys!

I have seen early Vulcans hit 3 and 400,000 miles. I have very rarely seen one actually die without someone doing something to make it happen like hydro-lock or not changing the oil.

The trans should last a long time as well if you keep the fluid changed. There are still clutches that can wear out in an auto, so it won't last forever, but it should have some miles in it yet.
