03 Airbag in a 96

Here in Texas my truck won't pass inspection cause I took out my airbag and sold it. My buddy has an airbag out of an 03 and I was wondering will the airbag bolt up to the wheel but I don't want to plug in the airbag?

It may work but I don't know if it will pass inspection without being plugged in... not to mention even if it does plug in it may still throw an error because the bag doesn't match up to the computer box.

It's a visual part that I won't pass. I took the airbag light out so that's not a problem. So do you guys think it will bolt up to the steering wheel?

Oh... ok... Well do you have to have an airbag or could you just stick on a wheel that doesn't have an airbag? Like an aftermarket type one? What steering wheel do you have now?

No I have the stock 96 wheel without the airbag. I can't run an aftermarket steering wheel unless my truck didn't come with one. I am just wondering if thr bolts are the same on the side of the steering wheel to put the cover on

Hmm. well I'm just wondering... I mean it will probably work but some of the wheels look different or have different setups. If the wheels look the same then it should work as the wheels didn't change at all hardly.

it should work, the wheel is the same, only diff is that the 01 and up had a blue oval and older ones didnt
the ones with it look classy tho
