Gt-12

shifter's going to be a simple affair....i want it to look like the stock shifter(i'll even use the stock knob)so it'll just be a stick with a boot....but instead of stirring the contents of a four speed,it'll just move back and forth in the typical auto pattern.there will be no indicator.

Yes I remember you talking about the shift boot now, I had a brain fart.... whats that smell??

Exactly why mine will be switchable... :icon_thumby:

good plan.....when you have room for two shifters.and the desire to tear down a valve body.

with all the work i have to go through just to put this thing together,i'm really glad i don't have to dive into the drivetrain.a few peripheral bits, and i'm good to go:icon_thumby:

the trans is electric, so the only thing I have to do is splice inbetween the transmission computer and the trans with a switch and the shifter.. basically leave the tree shifter and add the console. so not a huge deal

Yeah that is nice. You got really lucky on finding that motor/trans.

i was thinking about how yours is set up...if this one was the same i'd probably do something like you are.but being a th400,it's all one way or the other.

and yes-i was very lucky getting that setup.i was only on the islands for a few months and word had gotten around about my insanity-the owner came to me to offer it.

there will be a plaque under the hood in his memory when it's done.i'm hopefully confident, where ever he is now,he's happy he made the right decision in it's disposal.

after all,his instructions to me were 'to do something interesting with it'

Yeah. At least the TH400 will handle anything you throwat it. I'm pretty sure this one will but you never know with the imports.

This car is gonna be awesome.

the way i figure it,with a car this light, even if i get on the skinny pedal every now and then the trans isn't going to see anywhere near it's rated capacity.and i don't intend on getting stupid with this thing.it's all about the look, really.

Yeah that's true.

That's how every hot rod starts... it's just for show... next thing we know we see vids of you at the drag strip. :icon_hornsup:

and your eyes will be like this at the 1/8 lol :icon_surprised:

Glad things are motoring along nicely Tom! Should be one sweet little rig!

with the tunnel in place it's starting to look like a proper interior.i need to weld a flange on to the firewall for the tunnel to bolt to,and there's one spot where there's a little trans-to-tunnel interference that will need to be addressed.otherwise,it seems to fit pretty good.

from the passenger side.the trans sure takes up a lot of real estate in there.

There is plenty of space in there... that trans doesn't take up near as much space as I thought...

i'll have to dig out the original trans tunnel and get a photo of them together.there's a bit of a difference:D

Very nice. Looks tight for the right leg though, especially getting in and out.
