Should I buy my old Ranger back?

He called me up and said F the other guy you can have it!

I drove over there and bought it right away, 1400 dollars. Had the insurance swapped over from my car and I'm registering it tomorrow (stupid presidents day, dmv is closed) so I'll be driving it in about 24 hours! Whoot!

Only problem it has is the engine shakes at idle, and until about 35mph. I'm not sure what's up with that, any ideas? He says it's an engine mount but idk. He jacked up the engine to replace the pan. I'm also going to check the ignition timing because he said he replaced the wires and distributor cap.

sweet! and yeah it could be the rubber part on the motor mounts, or if he jacked up the engine maybe he forgot to tighten up one of the bolts?

I am so attached to my Ranger it gives me tangs of panic thinking of someone else driving it... let alone owning it.

I don't know if I want any of my old vehicles back. Had good memories, but I got rid of them for a reason.

Besides, wouldn't it be like dumping a girl, and then getting a chance to date her again after she broke up with the next guy. Sure he got her a boob job, and I'd probably take her around the block for a test drive, but I wouldn't want her back.

Why was he selling it after such a short time and putting all those parts into it? I see 3 cooling system related parts listed and it now shakes at idle. Possible he was troubleshooting a cooling problem? Is this the truck in you profile pic?

I have been with this one for almost 11 years, we have had some fights over the years but have never seperated.

He needed the money apparently, most of the coolant parts he put on because I included them in the sale when I sold it to him.

At first it was wierd, but then I got back into my old habits, it's exactly the same truck to me, just with foglights and a bit of a shake under 15mph.

And to the guy that asked about the cooling issue, those parts were changed because I included them in the origional sale. I bought them (preventively) and never put them on. I drove the truck for over an hour today, and it's just fine. I love it.

I'm so freaking happy guys.

Basically he just listed a few things off about the truck.

Anyways, he said the other guy was a big "Ranger Guy" and might have been on The Ranger Station. If so, I'm sorry that I bought the truck you were planning on buying, but I totally had dibs as I'm a previous owner.

The guy I just bought it from said he used the site for tech but never signed up, I refered him to it shortly after selling it. He said it's an awsome place for info but he relied on his mustang forums more.

Those of you with accounts on mustang forums might actually know him, he as a new style (as in brand new) baby blue V6. Looks like his family has another in Silver, possibly V8 but I'm not sure.

Anyways, I have to go pick my girlfriend up from work and then I'm gonna be busy for a while, so I'll get back to you guys with a link back to my build thread and some pics. Those of you who want to look back on the history of my truck back when I had it (it's nothing special) search "Project Life Support" and it should pop up, along with a few other of my posts.

I'm in the market for a Hitch if anyone has one they wanna sell. I'll buy new if I can't find one cheap. Also need a cap or bed cover. Hopefully a black or ford code EG cap, I sold my old one. I'll keep an eye out locally, I've had good luck with caps. The one on my Mazda I paid 60 bucks for and I paid 20 or 25 for the nice black ford one I had on my Ranger previously.

Anyone have a picture of a Ranger with Kayaks mounted to the cap? I want to see how high it goes before I plan on doing it.
