My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.


I learned a valuble lesson today. Last night I pulled the starter and took the solenoid off. Went to Autozone with Starter in hand. Installed ne Solenoid right in the store. Dude behind the counter tested and it passed.. Got home and still didn't work.. to save time typing the solenoid fried and smelled much bad. Took it back to Autozone got new one. Got home and benched tested myself and nothing.. rotated the Solenoid 180 degrees bolted up the starter wire retested and amazingly it worked!!! The lesson the solenoid has a certain way it bolt even though it can bolt either way... Lesson learned :annoyed: So she now starts with key!!!!
 
Oh yeah got new add on in the mail today.. Intalled it a little while ago.. Should be good for 100 HP or so... Tried to take picture but it's so shiney it was nothin but a glare...

LOL it's filthy dirty.. I was almost embarrassed to post a pic... BTW you should recieve a package any time... GF mailed it out last Week...
 
Thinking on taking the gold cobras off the fenders and putting 2010 Shelby Cobras on..

What do ya'll think? One thing it may leave a "shadow" of the gold ones in the paint.. I won't know till I take them off... Had I known about the new style I would have used them in the beginning...
 
Ordered some more stuff for the truck... One in particular I can't wait to get.. I am hoping it makes it a Screamin Demon... That was a hint...

just figured id make a statement since its been a while since i checked in. looking good.
 
I wish it was a turbo!! If I had the experience on setting it up and keeping it road trip drive anywhere worthy I'd turbo it in a second! Your truck is looking good! It's my fav GEN 1 Ranger

setting a turbo up to be reliable is easy dude. keep the boost to a safe level, and make sure the timing and fuel is where it needs to be, and make sure you have a proper size intercooler, and youll have no problem at all. ive daily driven 2 turbo cars, and got well over 30 mpg.

I am going with a 92 4.0 instead of a 5.0. incase anyone wonders why....
...5 The Ranger never came with a 5.0 from Ford....

i don't know if anyone has mentioned this, as i kinda skipped about 107 pages of this thread, but ford DID put a 5L in a ranger... looked quite a bit like the way you did your truck up actually... though there are some definite differences of art in the two

i can't find the url right now, but there was a prototype that ford made in the mid to late 80's it was white, ground effects, and i seem to remember it having a roll bar deal in the bed... it was a 5L mustang motor, with the t5 transmission from a mustang, i don't remember what the rear diff was, but probably a 3.73 trac loc... i seem to remember it having red interior also, very tame... only one ever made

your truck is coming along very nicely though!
