I made a trip today to the local Pick n Pull and I found a 2 bulb 93-03 dome light but it's in 3 pieces and I'm trying to reattach the 2 pieces. The chrome reflector has separated from the white part that the bulbs plug into. I have seen several like this so I guess it was kind of common. Any ideas how I can fix it? Like this one but 2 bulbs not 3: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OEM-...ts=Make:Ford|Model:Ranger&hash=item4155bfca13

superglue? what exactly is broken? on mine, the clear cover, silver reflector, and the solid colored backing plate all snap together.

The clear cover and silver reflector snap together no problem. It's where the silver reflector is supposed to be permanently attached to the white backing plate that has all the circuitry and which the bulbs plug into is the problem. The super glue I put on it seems to be holding for now, but I'm sure it won't last! Everybody says to just do the Mustang dome light mod, but I keep saying that the dome light in regular cabs is at an angle and the aim for the map lights would be way off.

Maybe drill small holes and use real tiny screws & washers where the little pins went through that were melted to hold it all together?

P.S., fixed the thread title for you.

Thanks, lol I don't even remember what it said. thanks for the suggestions. I also upgraded to the 3rd brake light w/ bed lights, figured they're both already pre-wired so what the hell. That and those plain Jane dome lights are the same one Fords been using since the 80's, lol.

took the bulb out of mine and got one of those multiple led lights that have a hook and magnets and use that. more light, batteries last forever, cheap, easy, and no more bad switches, bulbs, etc. to deal with.

his issue isn't with the bulb. but way to read the thread before you post...

LOL! Yeah, it functions just fine, it just looks really tacky with just the backing plate there. 3 days later and the glue is still holding *crosses fingers*.
