I'm not sure if anyone else has looked at the www.spokeo.com website. But they have a lot of information about you that you probably weren't intending the whole world to view. You can actually go in and tell them to remove you, which I did several months ago. I decided to check back again earlier today, and guess what? I'm back on it again, with my old address.

It knows your parents, siblings, address, income, and even your approximate credit score. It even has pictures of you, which I believe it gets from Facebook. It even has a pic of my parents home (my previous address it now shows me at).

You better look into it of you want to protect your name and information.

what is the purpose of this site? and why the hell would they have all this?

I wish I knew. All I know is I'm pissed. I really think legal action should be possible for these guys displaying this information.

Some of it is inaccurate, but most of it is dead right.

they just aggregate info from sources. its all mostly stuff anyone could find on thier own but they just do it for you.

While I agree that this is true, I do not understand how it knows anything about my Mother. She has nothing at all to do with the internet, but it knows her age and income.

Information about people can be found regardless of if they've ever used the internet. Utility bills, loans, credit report, court records, home ownership... it's all online somewhere, spokeo just gathers it for us.

You can't sue spokeo, all they do is find any info about you that is publicly available on the internet and package it together.

lol good they got nothing on me :D

that makes two of us!

you do know your handle and your avatar are in contradiction to one another right?

OK.I just visited the site.It states,"Please note that removing your Spokeo listing from public searches does not remove your information from the third-party data sources. Your information will still be shown on other people search sites, and you will need to contact those third-party sites one-by-one, or use ReputationDefender to protect your online identity. ."How the F are you supposed to find all the sites that may be publishing your info? That site has info on everyone in my family and some have been dead for 20+ years. :icon_confused:

If you search the name of my town on google images, you get my car domain, my profile on here, my build thread on here, and my grandmother on some experienceworks website.

Yeah, my old Ranger was a 5.0, my current one is getting a 460. User names are like tattoos.

Not sure why this isn't possible. I told them to remove my information, and it's back on there.

Some of my information is meant to be for friends only (I'm sure this is the info gathered from Facebook). That doesn't mean I want anyone and everyone to have my information. And credit scores? Really folks, why is that PUBLIC information?

my (former) boss/owner of the dealership i worked at. owned 11 title loan locations. his guys often used spokeo as a means of finding cars that were out to be repo'd (stashed a siblings house for example)

In facebook, you NEED to go into your account settings, and choose to block outside websites from seeing your stuff...

I have gone through all of the settings, every time they do an update too.
