Thanks a lot. Yes Im fairly new, been doing more reading and absorbing than posting. Yeah he begged me to go mudding so I finally took him. He had a blast. He doesnt get out much so I try to do as much as I can with him.

Thanks man. That kid is pretty awesome. He likes to hunt, fish, go mudding, and is a hell of a baseball player. Hes like a little version of me:icon_surprised:

but I only paid $500 for the truck when it was 100% stock and absolutely nothing was wrong with it except for a dent in the door. I think Im gonna put a locker in the rear end, add some tow hooks so i can actually use that 8000lb come along that I have, and probably tint the windows and add a toolbox. Not trying to get too crazy with it, just making it so it'll look good when I get it dirty

I did alot of reading when I joined up too. Theres a boatload of info here that could keep you reading for days on end. I also forgot to mention that your truck looks pretty good. And for $500? Damn, you got a fairly good deal.

Thanks guys. The 31's made a difference more so because of how long the gears are. 5th gear isnt touched unless im doing 80mph and on level roads. With my streetbike in the back i never get out of 4th and i have to downshift to go up even slight hills. Pretty much what i expected from a 2.3. But the BFG M/T km2's are def worth the money imo, great traction and virtually no road noise compared to other M/T and A/T's Ive heard

20's are way to big

That all depends on the driver, sure the 15s and lots of rubber look great, but I am done playing with the truck since I don't live anywhere near a place to go anymore. Now its just a street truck and I want to make it into a show truck. Honestly you see fullsize trucks all day with big, fancy rims and tires, well now its time to rock it ranger style:icon_hornsup:

no offense but I have when fullsize trucks have wheels larger than 17 inches, and I cant stand chrome. I honestly don't like show trucks unless they are very subtle

Thats a cool one. What did u use for the spare tire carrier? I was also just about to buy a roll bar off an stx but I had to replace the stupid camshaft syncro!

i made the tire carrier out of 1-1/2" square tube and then used a trailer spindle for the pivot. i covered the building of it in close detail in my build thread. i guess the roll bar was just meant to be, when i drove my truck up to work for the first time after finishing the restoration and getting it road worthy, i found the roll bar laying in the scrap pile. it looked like someone had just backed up and unbolted it from the truck? either way, it fits perfect and i havent seen any other like it with the long rear tubes. anyway, heres some more pics of Thumper flexing on the fork lift at work after i put the belltechs on. the front springs arent very flexy, but thats probably a good thing since its my DD and im not running sway bars.
