Just Plain Stupied, BlackWidow67's Build Thread

If you want a stronger rear I have that Ford 9" that I'll sell ya. 4:10s tho...lmao

Bobby the guy my dad used to rebuild the trans proved himself on 4 different cars that he don't know what the heck he's doing. He did my blazer twice. My parents explorer twice and on and on.

We just realized after my blazer died that he sucks. So I took a chance on this trans.

I know how to set up a tv cable. But when I get the new trans in, I'll bring it to my new guy and have him set the cable.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Ben. 4:10s would be insanely retarded to hook up. I spin em through 3rd with a 3:45.

Plus d&d will sell me a 3:45 8.8 out of a ranger for 200 out the door bench checked and all.

all the transmissions built on the same day?

figure out the failure means just that. with the timeframe given its typical for a tv cable related failure. i am not saying that is what happened, just likely.

based on my build experience with auto's i find it essential to identify fail cause.

Just sayin that's it's there if ya need it...lol Would make it easy to win burnout contests...lmao

not enough motor or tire for that.

Again, make sure what you're getting. A 3.45 is the 7.5" gear, maybe they meant the 3.55 which would be the 8.8
Dave

It was probably a 3:55, I wasn't thinking too good when I wrote that.

And Bobby, when I dropped the pan to change the filter, there was a lot of clutch material in the pan, but with it being rebuilt, I just figured it would be ok.

And, I had a good mechanic check the cable. I had it set right.

Plus, I didn't drive it enough for that to be the problem.

And no, he didn't build all the trannys on the same day. Bu every transmission he has done for me or other people I know, has went after 10,000 miles. Just past his warranty.

So we don't use him anymore.

But anyway, I'm gonna put another trans in, have my new trans guy set up the cable. And well be set

Bobby, when i dropped the pan to to a fluid and filter flush, there was a lot of clutch material in the pan, an

no metal????

Dats a good sign for a chevy (they always got a little black scum in the pan!)

...how bout burnt smelling fluid?

There was metal around the magnet. I couldn't tell the fluid smell. It had some water in it.

Now it smells burnt!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaa

ahh. anybody that has any sort of mileage number less then 100 thousand miles involved in a warranty under 18 months for nopn towing applications isnt worth talking to.:icon_thumby:

Now you got it.

I'm hooked up with a guy who builds racing transmissions for my tow truck driver and he stands behind everything he does.

Bobby, would you recommend any other trans that would be better? I love my overdrive so I think this is all there is.

The trans I'm getting it out of a 92 s10 so it's the stronger cable type 700's from what I've read

If he builds racing trannys that hold up well, I think he's good nuff for a street trans.

You need to be more specific so we can help you:

metal around the magnet....was it enuff to clog your paint gun or would it make a good fine metal-flake?

was the water drinkable...or was it jus good to bathe in ?

did it smell burnt like Loo-z-anna brown gravy...orstinkey-bad like chicken-grease at a cheap fried chicken stand ?
