x2 on tubes. at least carry one for "just in case". even if your tire gets a sidewall cut, piece of duct tape on the inside of the cut so it won't rub on the tube, put in the tube, air it up and it should get you home. i've run tubes in my trail rig for 3 years without any problems. never lost a bead. aired it down for the trails and then aired them back up for the trip home. be sure to get bias tubes for bias tires and radial tubes for radial tires.
just a little extra insurance, imho.
