Apparently I have the spindles off a 97 ish Explorer and the caliper bracket off a 96 ish Ranger or something to that effect . The bracket mounting holes are 6" centerline and the spindles are 7" CL . The problem is all the parts store and Salvage yards do not have the specs on parts ,( which I understand that would be a huge database) So I was hoping to find someone who has some experience with the twin piston setup . My hope is to have to buy the right caliper bracket .

There is an interchangeable parts list up top. but prolly in the exploder section would be the best place for info, and I didnt say this, but explorerforum might have some insight specifically to that change. Otherwise check our tech library its the most loaded library of anyplace online I have found. Maybe do a writeup when you figure this out and add it to the library.

Is that under the resources section ? Cause when I click the icon to find used parts it gives me an problem loading page error .

to upgrade a single piston brake equipped D35 front axle to dual piston calipers you will need the knuckles, calipers, and brackets off of a 95-97 ranger. Explorers of that vintage are completely different

Sorry for not putting all the info in the box I'm upgrading my 93 2-wd Ranger (poor ole blue) to the twin piston setup . already completed the Limited Slip axle mod .That went really well .Was hoping the brakes would follow suite and they might have if I would have looked closer . But it was a good dry run .Learn how to separate the ball joints and what to expect next time . Hope this clarifies my situation .

It's a simple swap, you just have the wrong parts.

Like holyford said, the 95+ Explorer is an IFS setup, and is very different from the Ranger. You need the RANGER knuckles and such. The Explorer parts won't fit your truck.

so then you need everything from the balljoints out, from a 95-97 ranger

Trying to type with my 1 yr old grandson helping so I need to keep it short . My truck is back together using the old parts so this isn't a emergency but I would still like to do it .

I had the drivers spindle installed the only thing I noticed that was different was the tie rod came down from the top instead up from the bottom .

Man I can not tell how much all the responses mean to me .Thank you all ! If it helps I can lay the parts out and take pic and post it .

Caliper Brackets

Got it figured out . Purchased caliper brackets for the 96 Ranger . They fit the calipers I already had and bolt to the spindles . So yay back on track !

Update ! Smaller caliper brackets go to the 4x4 Ranger . Just got the 2 wd brackets and they fit like they are suppose to. Now all that is left is whether or not they setup will fit inside the 14 stock rims . Fingers crossed !

Tilted Spindles

Still doing the upgrade to twin piston calipers . Each time I get closer and solve a few issues . However this latest development might push the limit . The new setup when mounted on the driver side sits @ 75 degrees whilst on the passenger side is @ 90 degrees . Hmmm ! going to provide a link to my Facebook page where the pics are . http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=87838&id=1048443454&l=9a04b78b8b

I see two different steering knuckles, one is the old style single piston and the other dual.
am I missing something?

I'm not sure what you are asking ? The red set are the ones I want to upgrade to (dual piston ) How ever when I went to install them the rotor was @ such an angle it rubbed where the bolt goes in to tighten the upper ball joint . I am looking @ getting I-beams or front axial arms as the book refers to them from a salvage yard for 50 each if they are the ones that has the correct angle on the ball joint mount .
