Aerostar 4X4

I measured the FM and it's 2 5/8" longer than the TK4. However the C5 is the same length. So I've decided to take the mutant pony up on his offer and try the TK4 one more time. If it won't hold up I'll put in the C5. I finally got some pic's off my daughters camera and they are not much but here they are. It don't like the cold and a bunch we took didn't take. I should have just taken my wife's without asking. RB

That is just too cool man. Must have been a blast out on the first run, and I bet you got alot of heads turning. Congratulations man.

Whats wrong with this picture? Jeep, Jeep, Jeep, Minivan, Jeep, Jeep, Jeep. Wait i think i know! Everything but one is a jeep!?!

The second Jeep back is mostly a Ford. 351W C4 Dana 20 with Ford Dana 60's. With 39" Iroc's it's all but unstoppable.

I got the TK out and took some pic's. There are two teeth missing off the little reverse gear. RB

need to send that thing into the dentist for a root canal or something LOL!! always sucks when somethin breaks. hope ya can get it fixed soon.

That would be sweet, but remembering past TTCs, I'd say that its too tall/narrow for a lot of the obstacles.

Badass looking tho.

ehhh that thing needs to loose about 20" of lift, the brow and the bug deflector. then it might not look to bad. CG must be pretty low though with those rockwells. (despite the height.)

With the tail housing off, you can see a little more carnage. The sliding gear having to mesh is definatly a weak point in the TK. You need to make sure not to let out on the clutch at all until it is FULLY engauged in reverse.

The M5OD is in constant mesh so it needs to be helical cut or it would whine. The M5OD uses a slider to select between reverse and fifth(Much stronger than a sliding gear!!!!)

Two of the teeth (to the left) have evidence of old damage. the three to the right are fresh. A good set of gears and careful use of reverse may keep this trans together. This will be a good test to see if the TK can hold up. I am all out of TK4 parts. I have to get the parts in so this could take a week or two.
I think I threw these part away once, thinking I would never need them. I have the parts for a TK5 still but, they won't work.

DAAAANG!

That's pretty toasted.....speaking of whining, that's what my tranny's doing right now....hahaha
