i cant find the torsion bar!!

my truck is up in the air and ive looked at the crank your torsion bar instructions and i cant find it i might stupid lol do i need to remove the tires or skid plate?

The bolt you crank is about middle of the driver and passenger doors, and about in line with the trans mount (I believe). Follow the rod attached to the lower control arm, thats the torsion bar.

what year is your truck? should be about 6" or so behind the front tire, follow the black horizontal bar from the tire back, then you will see the bolt

Yeah man...you CANNOT miss them!!!


Here's a little pic for ya....

Half way into the doors and under the frame, you'll see the T-bars. A 1.25" bar or so hangin under your truck. If you can't find 'em, you either don't have T-bars or you are blind!!!

Here's a pic of the t-bar key holder(although within' a suspension lift kit)

All it takes is a 13mm socket and a wrench!!! I suggest using a floor jacking to relieve some tension and use a 1/2" drive socket. Crank even amount for both sides(IE: 2 full turns on both sides of truck). Rule of thumb is 4 total bolt rotations as a good starting point. Remember....they take some bumps to settle. So don't expect your 3" lift to remain at 3"!!!

I'd recomend getting longer bolts too....... I couldn't get hardly anything out of the stockers, the driver side maxed out way too soon.

If saggy old weak bars are the case, then a taller driverside bolt does help. I actually just did this a few days ago. Got tired of being the lowest double lifted ranger on the planet. lol.
