The gun thread...

Do you have some kind of issue you'd like to discuss here or am I just reading your post wrong? :icon_confused:

I think feeln was expressing humorous Poetic Sarcasm.........but.....iculdbrong!

:icon_rofl:

Just asking? Some people really hate guns.???? Really can't understand why.

Because they're stupid, and they think that guns are scary, and that guns kill people... WRONG. Guns DON'T kill people, people kill people.

When SHTF comes, those without guns are going to be more screwed than the ones with guns...

you talkin to me?????

I'm crazy.............about guns...I mean Weapons, Drill Sargeant!!!!

It's just that after I've seen what men can do to men with them...I don't see weapons the same way any more. I go to gun shows, but I see more than a vintage military weapon now...I see something that has probably been used to send many men into agony & death....and spare the lives of many others...it gives me much more respect for the weapon I pick up to admire all the nicks, scrapes, "stains", etc. "Perfect" looking weapons are great, but you feel something when you pick up a beat-up weapon...it's history/good or bad.

I havn't been able to attend Air Shows or Live Firing Exhibitions since Nam...thats why I'd like to get an old western rifle to target practice with...I fire my muzzleloader & .22 rifle now & then...still flinch at the sound of em firing.

I'm with you Gunner. I love weapons of any kind. If they go BANG!, so much the better. I own many firearms and love to shoot. I try to never shoot at anything made of meat. I have... And I will again if it becomes necessary but I would preferr not. My firearms are just loud toys and I like to play!

How can anybody not like guns they rock:icon_confused:

I know some people that were in the military and don't really care to ever see another gun again. Catching tidbits here and there of what they went thru I can't say as I really blame them.

I use mine to punch holes in paper and hunt deer, and I hope that is all ever do with them.

Speaking of guns, any of you guys been following that "Top Shot" show on the History channel? I have yet to see anything that I consider very challenging besides the long bow and knife throwing, and that's only because I have no experience with either. I thought about audtioning for the show, but they say you have to be "in shape" and I'm a fat bastard lol.

I'm glad you talk Gunner. So many don't. I had an uncle who was an island hopper in the Marines during WWII. He came home with 2 gunshot wounds and two bayonette wounds. He would never talk about it. I understand why but now that he has passed, I feel the loss of never knowing his stories.

Met another gentelman in the course of my work who was the very begenning of the Army's Special Forces. They put these guys ashore in the Pacific a few days prior to the beach landings to "soften up" the enemy. I read his book, a little 100+ page, self published thing... It was absolutely brutal. Let's just say the Japanese were fond of torturing prisoners. These guys gave it back in spades. Beyond a certain point he completelely lost his memory and has no recolection of events past that time. I wish I could have spent more time talking with him. Wish I could have gotten a copy of his book but I borrowed his son's and had to give it back. He passed a few days after I met him and all that history is gone now. Makes me sad. It was called "Flaming Lances From Hell".

Ive watched some of the episodes. I think the real challenge is being able to accurately shoot all of the weapons they throw at you. Its pretty impressive if you ask me.

I'm honored to be able to speak for him & others....it's not easy....but I really believe the U.S. wouldn't get in any more wars if everybody knew what their loved ones went thru....."Brutal" describes kick-boxing......"HELL" (literally & emotionally) describes War!

Hate?! Have you read some of my other posts in here? LOL When I got back from Iraq I always carried two pistols on me at all times, My .40 cal on my hip and my 9mm either on my other hip or in my truck depending on my clothes. I LOVE guns. It was just bad sarcasm, and DG there was nothing poetic aboutit, just bad sarcasm. he said he was making sure his guns were safe. or you said it, someone said it. I have a DG memory. Sorry. You'll never find a bigger gun supporter than me, maybe a bunch of equivalents, but never bigger. LOL

I slept on my back with my rifle on my left side & my wife on my right side....barrel pointing at the bedroom doorway.......

then one night after I emptied it out of the bedroom window at a stray dog dumping my garbage all over the yard for the 20th time......and then realizing the hot casings had all landed on her 20 year old naked body....I decided the rifle had better go next to the bed so she would get back IN the bed......Man.....she had some whelps on her the next morning!!!!!!!

Yeahhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhh..........I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
