Ventvisor Question

Question for those of you that have the in-channel style ventvisor. Does the in-channel part of the ventvisor interfere with the window closing all the way? I'd hate to install a set only to find out that the window whistles or doesn't close all the way. Thanks!

no.. they go all the way up into the channel, but the added in channel width does push the outer plastic backed rubber felt bit out a bit... 1/8th or less

I have them and they are SUPER GREAT!!!!!!! They cause no issues if you install them correctly.

I would think they between the actual door frame and the seal but I could be wrong. I think I am. Someone please correct if I am wrong.

My truck had Ventvisors equipped on it when I bought it. Hoosier's half right.

They get stuck in between the window channel and the door on the outside of the window channel.

They also make some that attach with 3M double-sided adhesive tape.

yea scuff it with a green brillo pad, clean away any of the scuffed away felt, and clean again with the alcohol pads.

now starting with the end closest to the mirror pull away the first threee to five inches of the tape backing and adhere to the newly cleaned felt. only expose as much tape at a time as you can press fit to the felt.

mine have been on the truck for over two years and have braved the phoenix summer sun and cold flagstaff winters without a problem.

the adhesive doesn't attach to the felt.
it attaches the ventshade to the inside of the channel .

if anything it makes the window seal tighter

you would be correct.


you pull the seal out of the door, mount the shade then reinstall the felt coated rubber

I can take a shot when I get the chance. I will post one later today or tomorrow. This is the first time I used this setup and I installed mine many years ago, and if I can do it....you can too!!!!!

when you install these make sure you scuff off some of the felt first then install them.. the first time you bring up your window its kinda tight but what i did was i left the truck out in the sun with the new in channel vent visors on and the windows up and gave it a couple of hours . once they are properly seated the windows work like normal

After a few days the window rubber gets used to it.

Allan, ive got to say that you are wrong. on all points except the fact that it does make the seal temporarily tighter.

i dont know if we are talking about different applications here or what on what rbv application do you "remove the seal from the door?"
