Post up what you do to wash and clean your trucks, especially you show truck, or mud truck guys. I clean mine with a pressure washer at home, and I know I'd love to hear a better way to wash the underside without getting soaked :icon_twisted:

hire someone else. and i wash my (i dont call it this but allot of other people do its a show truck)and i use turtle wax ice car wash i love that stuff. best i have ever found. and waxing makes the mud fall off allot better and i wax it with mothers three steap wax its expensive and takes a good amount of time but i think its worth it

i used a hammer to clean my truck this weekend.... no, its not a joke..... a hammer! lol

with me and my"show truck" when i see mud i go around it and i turn to avoud dirt roads when im goin to shows. but when im just crusin if i have to ill go on dirt roads no puddles though. so its easy to clean my truck

I try not to wash in direct sunlight if possible. One bucket. One sponge for the paint (done from top first to bottom last), next a separate sponge for the wheels and finally another separate sponge/brush for the tires and wheel wells. I rinse as I finish a section

As I keep my car and truck pretty clean, the water really only starts to get dirty as I am finishing my wheels. By then only the tires and wheel wells are left. For a black car, though, it may be wise to have 2 buckets (1 for the paint and 1 for everything else) depending on how dirty the car is. There is also a strainer you can buy and put in your bucket (or it may be built into the bucket already, don't remember) that keeps any dirt at the bottom of the bucket

Next I "armor-all" the tires AND wheel wells while the car is still wet. This way if there is overspray it gets dried when I dry the car and doesn't leave marks on the paint. I shine the wheel wells as it acts like Pam cooking spray (for lack of a better analogy) and repels dirt/grime and keeps them (and subtly your car) looking new longer. If you have a clean car/truck and dirty wheel wells, the car looks dirty.

I dry the car with cloth baby diapers (not used, lol) and the glass with paper towels (as it streaks less). A chamois works too.

Sounds like a lot I know, but once it becomes your routine it can be done quickly.

This is my routine when it is warm enough (above freezing). In the winter, I use the do-it-yourself car wash a lot.

.

Rain?Rinse with Garden Hose? Occasional trip to spray it off at the car wash? These count as washing? Lol

Btw, a fast pass through a creek will get most of the under carrage cleaned......:icon_twisted:

Hit it with the Hotsy to get the majority of the stuff off, sponge bath with a bucket and soap, then Hotsy it again to get the soap off. Then dry it with my fake shamee.

In the winter, touchless carwash between storms...

The old fashion way. Sponge, bucket, garden hose. Add 1oz of TurtleWax Ice Wash to the bucket, fill half way with clean water. Then I spray all the loose debris off the Ranger, including chassis. Then I start with one section at a time and wipe off dirt film with sponge. Rinse section with clean water and move on to the next section. When done, I take a clean towel and wipe clean all mirrors and windows to leave a spot free viewing surface. Finally, the start of every season, I give the paint job a good waxing with TurtleWax Ice Liquid Polish.

Armor All Car Wash. California Water Blade to dry it. The wax seems to last forever that way. Scrub the tires with Westley's Bleach White, follow that with Armor All. Meguire's Wheel Cleaner.

If you spray the fenderwells and chassis with Armor All before you go off-roading, the mud will wash off easier.

For $8.95 I go to our local car wash and it is touch free. The guys there follow the vehicles along the path and use a pressure washer to do the undercarriage. Then they towel dry the car and clean the windows inside and out. For an extra $3.00 they will vacuum the car and treat the tires with that Tire Shine. Last month I went ahead and let them do the Simonize hand wax also. I think I will do this once a month now. The whole thing with all the above and wax is only $18.00.
So, I would rather have them do it all for the $18.00 once a month. Saves me the water and the time. It seem cheaper to just get the whole package then go for the cheaper package and I feel it is worth it as they do and outstanding job!!! Plus...I get a free coffee, cappuccino or tea or a soda while you wait i their air conditioned office!!!!

I hate Armor All. I use 303 protectant for the tires/plastics. Doesn't attract dust, has Uv protectant and will not harm rubber/plastic the way AA does.

Meguiars Gold Class wash, dry with microfiber towels, glass done with Stoner's Invisible Glass also using microfiber towels. Meguiars Detail wipes inside. Woolite and warm water with a mF sponge for the seats/carpet when they need attention.
