and the whole reason for doing this.the box happens to be very close to the 1.67 cu ft that sony recommends for this sub,so that worked out well.time to call it a day,but will need to finish the upholstery tomorrow.then i have the rest of the interior to upholster, and amps to mount and wire.nonstop fun!

That's some awesome work:icon_thumby:
I salmon-fished on a trawler in '81 up there around Masset. It's beautiful country and great people. I've always thought of living there but making money always got in the way. Looking back; my bank account is still empty, kicking my own ass!
Keep up the good work

and a view from the back.the exposed seams on the sides are hidden by the seats and speaker boxes,i just covered these areas so if someone wants to look in that close they don't see raw wood.if the red looks as pink on your computer as it does on mine, rest assured that it is actually red.

Looks great!
If I may ask..............What the hell do you do for a living to have the time to come up with this stuff?

i mostly work on sport fishing boats, doing custom fiberglass fab, maintenance and polishing, aluminum fabrication,dc electrical systems,as well as auto body and paint, some mechanical(only the stuff the local garages can't figure out-they send it to me to get done right).i also do outboard motor repair, general marine mechanical and auto glass.sign up if you want, but be warned-this time of year i generally work 14-16 hour days 7 days a week. i can hardly wait till july when all the boats are in the water so i can concentrate on my crap a little more.right now i get from 7pm-11pm to do my stuff.....if i'm lucky.good thing this time of year it's light out till damn near midnight.:icon_cheers:

while i'm at it-here's the thing in place.the rest of the plastic in the pic that looks too light now will all be covered in the same vinyl as the box-still not sure if i'll recover the seats, but come winter i most likely will.things that dont match bug me.:D

now that's a bit of a stretch...
and now i need to do something about these ugly things.finding fancy door panels for the back doors of a crew cab is damn near impossible,so i guess i need to make them nice myself.lots of things bug me about these panels but the biggest thing is the hole from the window crank.time to do some cutting.

wow that is nice work! I can't even build a square box much less something that fancy!

now that's a bit of a stretch...
choppy choppy.....i gotta apologise a little at this point-most of what is going to happen in the next little bit on this thing is going to be upholstery or stereo oriented, but there will be some nifty fab coming up later in the summer.i intend to keep this thread going for a while,as well as moving on my other builds as time allows.:icon_welder:

now that's a bit of a stretch...
now i cut a chunk of 1/4" mdf to replace the missing plastic;hot melt glue works great for this-just use lots, but neatness counts.:icon_thumby:
