the explorer one is about the same thing as the FX4 one. diffrent limited slip which from what it sounds like you wanna change it anyways. they are both 8.8in ring gera with 31-spline axle shafts. with the explorer you would need to weld on shock mounts and spring perches on top of the axle tube.

What year is it? I remember reading somewhere that the Torsen's exploded inside the differential's on 02 models IIRC.

It was an 03, But the guy just called me today and said he can't find it so he refunded me and I'm on the search again.

Thanks Again,but I found another 03 fx4 axle with only 50,000 miles for $400. Its semi close going to pick it up in two weeks.
