Hey guys...I need help. I want to put an exhaust cutout on my truck but I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to shut it. I bought a manual cutout and it leaked like a b*tch. I can make one but I want it to close so it doesn't leak. So does anyone have a design that works? I don't want to buy the electronic ones because they are expensive and I don't trust the wiring when I'm offroading. So PLEASE HELP!!!!

does it have a gasket on it. a donut gasket should work on it if it is tight enough

friend of mine has summit raceing ones that close useing wing nuts. there perfect. heis truck is a 68 3/4 ton chev with a built 327 and 4speed

Exhaust cut-outs on a 2.3L?

You do realize that about all that will do is make it sound loud, I wouldn't expect any performance gain out of that.

gain performance (+3-5 hp) cut out exhast after weld cat convertor

+3-5 HP is not even a measureable increase...

Ok...Just to let everyone know...It's not for performance...it's just for the noise when I'm 4 wheeling. I put an exhaust system from a 95 ranger on mine so it would be nice and quiet when I'm around town...But I want a cutout that I can just pull a cable or something to open it when I'm messin around...I had a flowmaster 40 on it but I kept getting pulled over because the cops thought it was too loud...I got pulled over 7 times in one week at 11:00 at night every night. I have made a cutout that I can just bolt a cap to but I would like to NOT burn my fingers trying to get the cap off before I wheel...So any body have one that I can control from inside my truck?
