ForOffRoadDriving's 94 Ranger Build

Holy backspacing Batman! Check that out in the second pic, looks like one of those old tractors with the front wheels made to go between furrows!:icon_twisted: :headbang:

Just teasing, BTW.

Also, if you don't mind me asking... how did you tint your tails again? I don't really want to go back through all 28 pages. =P

yeah, the back spacing looks horrible, but when i measured the backspacing of the B2 wheels and compared it to the ones i originally had the snow tires mounted to (12 hole) it was the same. the difference is that the B2 rims are 1" narrower (15x6) than the 12 hole (15x7), so the back spacing didnt change but the distance that the wheels sticks out from the face of the rotor is lacking by an 1", if that makes sense? i agree they look goofy, but for not being a fan of that wheel design in the first place they turned out better than i expected and they function great, so once spring rolls back aound ill switch back to the lumpy muds if i dont have the $ saved up for a set of all terrains by then.

oh yeah, about the tail lights, i used VHT nite shades (part no. sp999) to tint them, its a transparent paint specifically made to be applied to light housings/ lenses.

Yeah, I must say those wheels look better than I expected them to, and good to hear that the tires are killin' it! Thanks about the nite shade stuff, I'll see if I can find some!

well things have slowed back down again, im afraid im stuck in the lazyness of winter once again. i still have a few things to do to the truck, but between the snow and the lack of motivation it might be a while. i went disc golfing in the snow for the first time, it was a blast! there was around a foot of snow on the ground and it made for a challenging game. between trying to find your disc after you threw it and just plain making the walk through the course, it was tough.

I've never tried disc golfing, actually...

im not a purist, i use discraft and innova discs and i had a wizard putter for a while but it disappeared (i know, how do you lose a putter right?). maybe ill take a pic of my golf bag on lunch today so you guys have an idea of what im working with. on a different note, i went through some pics last night as i was getting ready to develpoe some for my album and i found a few that i left out. i came home for lunch one day and smelled antifreeze pretty strong when i got out of the truck so i popped the hood and the over flow tank was over flowing, i popped the lid open and it spewed even more green goo out of it. i also noticed that my t stat housing is leaking again, so i was thinking maybe it got air in the system and pushed the coolant that was replaced by the air into the over flow? its always gotta be something!

i also found some pictures of my saturday night of redneck sledding with ray. we got a new haynes repair manual display at work and it came in this heavy duty box, so i decided to make a sled out of it, since you cant really buy a sled at the store anymore that can stand up to a night or two of drunken power sledding. heres what i came up with, i couldnt get any action shots cause it was dark and frankly i was drunk and hanging on for my life, so just use your imagination!

the sled didnt last as long as i thought it would have, mainly because we needed more layers of duct tape on the bottom and probably some crisco cooking oil smeared on the bottom would have helped, but it was fun while it lasted. oh yeah, we found some kiddy pools and decided to give them a go too!

heres the pics of my DG equipment, my bag holds my favorite discs and i have a hand full of other ones that i let friends borrow when they want to play. my bag has velcro riveted to it to hold my speakers and i have an 2G MP3 player attached to it so we can jam out while were teeing off playing the courses.

i got another set of the bull rings for the front bed pockets today, but i need to remove the bolts on my roll bar and lift it up about 6" so i can wiggle them into the holes.

thumper is also developing a weird cooling problem, once it gets up to temp and runs for a while it will start making a "popping" and "wooshing" sound, like coolant transfering from the oveflow tank to the radiator of vice versa. it had this problem before i did the rebuild and after i rebuilt it things were fine, but apparently its back again. all my hoses are warm and i dont seem to be overheating or underheating, so its got me stumped.

Think of it this way...if things weren't breaking on their own you'd probably get bored and screw with it 'til it was broken anyway. At least that's how it works with me :icon_thumby:

ive been know to do that, try to mod something that was working fine and end up busting it all together. the more i think about it that cable was 16years old and i never replaced it cause it didnt have any corrosion on it, but maybe i have a worn out motor mount already? that would explain why it broke out of the blue at least?

well i went home for my lunch break and took off my cables and then brought them back to work to further inspect them. it was definitely time for new ones!

after a couple hours of going through catalogs and checking stock at the warehouse im pretty sure ill have all the parts to rebuild these babies out of 2GA so they will match my aux. battery cables. tomorrow i will build them and take pictures, i did check the price on them through the ford dealer and they wanted $75 for the ground cable and $65 for the positive, so im sure building my own will be more satisfying and it will be way cheaper!
