so gunner, what was the purpose of moving the engine back further??
 
If I remember correctly he was having cooling problems so he's moving it back further to fit a fan that can pull more air. But that could be my inner-retard talking.

The reason was....I didn't do wut you sayed blackwidow....the sbc just slide right down into a comfortable spot.....5" above the crossmember......and just so happened that the flex fan fit just right.

So....instead of setting the engine as low & far back as possible (like u sayed 2do)...i bolted it to the chassis right where it was....

Well........I got all the hood sides/etc. lined up real purdy with the radiator/grill & I fired it up...everything was going great...then the temp guage kept rising....I yanked out the thermo----still running hot...the flex fan wasn't doing good enough!!!!!!!!

Sooooooo....I slid the engine back about 4" & down about 4".....now the OEM clutch/fan fits great...all I gotta do is weld the m.m. brackets to the frame rails.....chop 4" off both exhaust pipes behind the cats & reconnect the exhausts....then I'll RE-shorten the drive shaft 5" & bolt it back on...

BUT IT WON'T HAPPEN TOMORROW......I'm taking my wife & daughters to the cemetary to visit Blake's (temporary) resting place....

So...everybody please say a little prayer for us tomorrow....thanks Men.
 
thanks Men......it was really ruff, but we made it thru the day/we're worn-out**cried-out....I'm thinkin Blake wants me to wrap up the drive shaft remod. and get the truk on the highway by this week-end now that the sbc is bolted in & plumbed up to the radiator....

Just wanted to say that it was shapeing up to be a cool build but lost interest when you started putting that Ford crap into it.:no2::buttkick::bad:
