Gears & Aussies...

If you're planning on keeping the 3L go with 4.88's.

This way 5th gear will actually be useable.

4.56's would be ok, but what do you have now? 4.10's? That's a small jump, you'll notice a slight difference, but going to 4.88's would give you the performance jump you're looking for.

Aussie does make a Locker for the IFS D35. Go with a No-Slip or Lock-right in the rear, I've got a No-Slip in my Dakota and I'm quite happy with it.

Also agreed on 4.88 gears.

Yeah I plan on keeping the 3.0 for a while. This is my DD and mild off roader. I use it to haul my toys and pull my friends out when they get stuck (although I've been pulled out too ha). Okay so 4.88 gears. That's what I was thinking. I read on here somewhere that with the 4.0 and 33's, 4.56's would be good. But with a 3.0 and 33's 4.88 gears would be best. So I think I will go with those maybe. Unless I can scrape money up really soon I'll buy Tom98's gears.

Does anyone have any resources on how to install gears? Like a list of what I'll need and tools I'll need?

In the "Announcement" post at the top is the Axles FAQ. Click on that and scroll down a bit and you'll see some links to a bunch of info about installing gears. :icon_thumby:

So is the aussie still being produced for the IFS d35? I can't find it any where on their site any more.
