2.8 liter TBI swap

Ya heres a video. Warning doesn't have an exhaust system hooked up yet
Hope this works ive never put a video on here before.
does the exhaust make it sound like its on high idle? speakin of high idles, my trucks being stupid. it idles like 15-1600 and just randomly starts dipping, to4-5o00 rpms. i dont get it ill get a vid soon. theres one on youtube...

MY VIDEO

No its idling high....I haven't gotten around to getting it tuned due to no exhaust. I'll get that fixed after Memorial Day weekend when the welder comes back. Right now its idling around 2100 rpm. I'm just glad it runs and it worked.

I had and idling issue like that on the 2.3 I had and thats one of the reasons why I took it out. I'm told it could be a vaccum leak around the MAP sensor.

I want one of the dashes with the built in tach. Might get that instead of a exploder dash. I know where a ton of them are.

The problem with my engine going to start it up was the battery was being drained by something. I think the system has a power draw on it. What you saw was me getting it running after it was attached to the jump starter. That video I'm not going to post. So you saw take 2.

2-9's better. haha
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO(NO HE DIDN'T)

I'm not going to be running bigger tires. I'm not going for height either, okay mabey a few inches. As for SAS, ya get your done (naw just take your time).

As for the TBI stuff, my dad only paid $75 bucks for it. If fuel tank and pumps were $50 bucks. Its not all that expensive to do this swap. Actually IF you are good enough you can get this swap done in a weekend.

Right now my battery is charging, stupid electrical draw, I'm going to be looking into that today and find out whats going on.

As for engines, I dont care what you have, as long as you have a Ranger.

More to come soon!!!

i think seein cool rangers is the only thing that keeps me from sellin mine and buying something new, but i have a real soft spot for old rangers. specially first gen, SETTIN THE BAR HIGH!!!!
haha i love the 2.9 but when time is good im goin to put a 302 in. i know, its been done before, but that just means it works. if i knew where to get a tranyn tcase combo i'd get a 4bt. and if i wanted to wait 3 years to get it done id buy a 6bt right now. but i wanna drive this truck. i think i could drive a 6bt twin turbo ranger for the rest of my life happily. Fawk corvettes

You get a tranny and tcase combo from a full size truck and mabey it engine too.

As for my truck I think I'm going to be putting on a newer driver side fender on next week. Its been sitting in the garage for 8 years now. My dad never got to putting it on. I know I said I'd wait to do body work till next year but I think its time to put it on.

As for my brakes, never got to them, not like the truck is going any where. I'm busy tomorrow helping my brother-in-law with his 94 ranger. Its leaf spring perches rotted out and the leaves are being supported by the bed and cutting through it.

More to come.

haha so many people say "oh that engines too revvy(this comment was made when i was inquiring about my 302 swap) " but the more the revvs the better

Well I scored good. Got leaves for my SAS for only 10 bucks form my brother-in-law!!! They are 52.5 inches eye to eye. I've measured my truck and I can get them to work. They have 6 leaves and I think that might be too stiff but I'll deal with that later. I'll have a picture of them next Monday when I can pick them up ( I was on a motorcycle today and couldn't get them home and for got to take the digital camera for pictures of swamper rims and lift coils for a jeep/ranger that will be for sale soon).

As for work to my ranger got a new fender put on thats been sitting for ten years.

you could have at least painted it a different color so as to follow the theme of your truck! i got pics tonight so i figured to let ya know

Paint it??? Thats next years job. The paint on the cab is no longer avalible in that color. And paint it which color? The color of the bed, the cab or the hood? LOL. The title says gray so thats the color it will be but dont know what shade yet.

It does follow the theme of my truck. My truck is the Heinz 57 truck. Has parts for countless other trucks on it, (mabey 57 other trucks...whos counting...yet).

More to come soon!!!
