im trying to push it into the slave cylinder, but it wont stay in there. its not in there tight and it leaks. its a brand new slave cylinder. what is the problem?? is there more to it then just pushing it in?? am i missing a piece?

What kind of slave cylinder?

Plastic or aluminum?

The '88-92 Rangers are supposed to use an aluminum slave cylinder
with either a Red or Black coupler.

the '93-up "plastic" slave cylinder uses a yellow or "gold" connector
and this is not compatible with the earlier line.

theres a little pin you have to drive in after the line is pushed in to the slave cyulider.

i guess i should say its a bronco 2. it has the black connector.

Presuming that the line has a black connector also (they fade to a purplish color)
the compatibility issue I mention isn't your specific problem.

However you should look up inside the female coupler to see if the
barb teeth that retain the male couple are missing or bent.

i looked in there, the barbed teeth are still there but they do look pretty flat.
