Thought I'd share the news.

Just got off the phone with Torsen tech support verifying info for my comprehensive Differential Guide thread over on ranger-forums. I asked him if they had anything coming out for the modified Dana 35 that's in the '98+, and he said...

"It should be available in November"

I asked him if it was the same as the prototypes we have all read about years ago. He said that it's been in the works for a while, and, although he doesn't know why it took so long, that it should be available in November!

Look like we will soon have a L/S option for the front.

^^As am I! I am planning on calling them tomorrow and possibly call once a month til it comes out!

woohoo

im calling every day til i get one no longer is my ranger gonna be nicknamed the 3 tire crier by the chevy boys...

Here's their number: (585) 464-5000

Clog up their phone lines!

are you sayin that they are coming out with a lsd for the d35 that will replace the front diff. if so how much do they cost? if they cost more than a lock-rite im just gonna go with the lock-rite but if they cost less, ill jump on it.

im confused, what is going on and what is coming out in november?

A front limited slip for 98+ 4x4 Rangers. Torsen is the brand, T2 is the line of limited slips. Been in the works on and off for the past 3 years or so.

Currently, the only traction aid avaliable for our front M35, is an Aussie Locker, which is quite violent in 4wd.

And before anyone says 'it's worthless to do anything to an IFS', you can go ahead and hold it in. Good for you that you've got a solid axle, but you know, tons and tons of us certainly don't need one or even want one to get done what we want to get done.

Can't get a lock-rite for the front of our trucks....

i wish i would have kept it IFS and did a Brenthel or a Dixon Bros long travel. if anyone wants, ill trade them mine for a stock FX4 with manual t-case. lol

I remember reading about a prototype someone had installed a while back on another forum, but I don't recall all the details. I do remember it getting rave reviews, though.

So this would be okay for a DD that also sees a lot of ON road miles, correct?

yay! that way i can have 2 torsens now! damn im excited! the truck would be amazing with ls in the front!

lol

rock crawling a ifs isnt so hot but get down south in the mud the solid axle boys get stuck faster than the ifs boys. give me a limited slip front AND rear an ill be a happy camper in my little ranger

a long travel IFS would do great on trails. definitly have to run a double rate or even triple rate coils.
