Stripped a seat bolt Help!

So while trying to remove my seats, so i could clean my filthy a$$ carpet i stripped the head on one of the torx bolts, holding the seat down, whats the easiest way to remove it?

Can you hammer the next smallest socket down over what's left?

When I just did a console install one of my front outer seat bolts was rusted bad. I thought I was going to strip it too, but thankfully it did not.

ora take a hack saw or sumtin and cut a straight groove int eh head to use a flathead, but im all for vice grips and sum pb blaster

I've used the hacksaw trick a few times...vice grips may or may not work...but apply plenty of WD-40 from the bottom side first and let it soak...the bolt stem should be visible from the under side...

Well its going to the stealership tomorrow for something else anyways so i'll let them deal with it. All the help is appreciated though.

Drill it out with a 1/4 inch drill bit (use lots of cutting oil), then drill it out to 1/2. When you put it back together use 1/2 inch bolts (atleast use grade 5 bolts, these are also part of the restraint system) with nuts on the bottom side (tack weld them to the cab if you dont have some body else to hold the wrench, or use an impact gun on the nuts) and use a little blue locktite. If it is a Super cab, make sure you dont hit the gas tank under the driverside seat belt bolt with the bit

I am pretty sure Ford put some sort of super locktite on all the bolts that the seat belts attach to. , thats why they always suck to get out in one peice.

no, when you break the easy out in the bolt youre trying to extract then you are SCREWED because you cant just drill an easy-out out. i would suggest drilling the head of the bolt off with the appropriate size drill bit (so that the head is gone and just the threaded portion is in the floor pan), then apply a liberal amount of pb blaster to both the top and bottom. wait a minute, drink a beer or two, then crawl underneath with your vice grips and clamp the protruding end of the bolt and work it back and forth, until it gets easy to turn. then you can finish turning it out from the bottom which shouldnt take too long because youre going to be turning fresh threads through the nut instead of dragging the rusty ones through it.
