not to threadjack but whats the difference between the manual lock and auto. with the manual do you have to put it in 4x4 from the outside?

Correct....sort of. You still shift the transfer case into 4x4 as usual, but the front wheels won't engage until you lock the hubs. Manual hubs are less convenient, but more reliable.

Rangers arent luxurious in any way shape or for however my ranger with 115,000 miles runs a hell of a lot better than moms 2008 tahoe LTZ(50,000 dollars). That new tahoe is the biggest POS!! she lost her steering on the highway and had a blowout with the brand new tires from chevy even though it was aired up great. that shredded her fender with chevy fixed under warranty but still!! also two dents in the piece of shit, its like scrap metal. It just goes to show when buying a car more needs to be looked into other than touch screen radios, and fake wood trimming

2000 was the first model year for no hubs , if you are lucky you can get an early 2000 with the PVH system and convert it to manual , 98 - 99 came with the PVH , 93-97 came with the ones like driftgod's factory ones , prior to 93 you had auto's on the Dana35 , which is mid 90 to 93 , and on mid 90 and older with the Dana 28 you have ethier auto or manual hubs

I agree 100% I love the exterior styling, but the interior is pretty plain and there's nothing fancy about it.

i like the ability to be able to un lock my front axle when not in use , aves on the wear and tear , sith the manual hubs when you put them in free it allowed them to freewheel within the bub , so your wheel was turning but your axleshaft wasn't , with the live axle , even ehwn the 4x4 is not engaged those front halfshafts are still turning , all the time
