Is the instrument cluster on my 1997 Ranger 2.3 XLT a "Plug & Play"? What I mean by that is can I replace the instrument cluster in my truck with one that has a tac (mine doesn't have one now) with out having to do any wiring.

just make sure the new one is the same year, so it would be plug and play, getting a newer one might give u some lighs that have different location compared to the 97

I believe 95-97 should work. I know the 94 and earlier will not work, but not sure about after 97. I know they changed lots of stuff after 97, but not sure about the cluster.

um actually 95-2003 instrument clusters work interchangeably , there all plug and play, I have an instrument cluster from a 2003 FX4 Ranger in my 97 ranger, it was plug an play, and it has a tach and my stock one didnt

nope, the clusters are the same up until 2003. My 97 has a 2003 cluster in it. There are 3 plugs in the back, each on different, so its idiot proof also lol
