1994 RANGER EXTENDED CAB SHORT BED 2WD WITH 5/6 DROP...

ok right now its a carbed set-up with a Mustang automatic aod trans which is shot. I just picked up a used c4 for free and its off getting rebuilt..

I'm being told running a c4 isnt going to be good for me to drive daily and highway travels, some people are saying get a manual vale body in the aod and have overdrive on a switch.. what do you think?

also the c4 is obvoiusly smaller, my ranger is and extended cab short bed.. what about trans mounts and driveshaft? currently the shaft looks to be 2 piece...

ADVICE?

I'd also love eventually to make it 5spd, it still does have the pedal assembly, but all the hydrolic clutch parts were removed.. whats that require or can u some how get away with a mustang adjustable cable and adapt a quadrant to clutch pedal??

As far as a C-4 goes, that depends on how far you have to drive everyday. There's nothing to mount a cable clutch to, you'll have to fab all that. Be easier to go back hydraulic. Just need the master cylinder and a pressure line to the slave.

as everyone has told me i guess im getting my aod build with a manual valve body and overdrive on a toggle

if you already got the pedal for a manual tranny and wanting a manual AOD, why not just intall a t-5 from a mustang or similar with a hydraulic clutch?

well point me in the cheapest and easiest way to get it done, parts.. #'s and all. i got less then a week to go to track lol

i run the AOD on my mild v8 ranger with the 302, i love the 4 speed and its smooth shifting if properly tuned.
