This is my girlfriends, friends Jeep Cammander, that met with a Honda civic although the jeep is drivable the whole front end is plastic and this is $12,000.00 in damages there nothing wrong with the rear exept the plastic wheel flare. when she got it towed here she said she thought it was totalled I said no way its just the front and air bags boy was I wrong I'll stick with rangers. What an expensive piece of crap.

Yeah - just plastic - but all of the underlying support structure to hold that plastic in place is what adds up fast.
My wife has a 2002 S2000, she slid under an Escape and tore up her hood, fenders, headlights and front bumper cover - $4000 - Luckily no support damage, but all of her panels, except bumper cover, are aluminum.

Yeah, it sucks, but, the plastic is there for a reason, to absorb the impact, rather than your body absorbing it.

$12k in damage?

They aren't worth that much new on the lot anymore since Chrysler got Obama-ed.

It does not take much on a impact, to rack up a huge repair estimate on any truck or car! At the hourly rate of most shop's at $80 to $100 per hour. a singal 10 hour day would be around a grand. So a few days shop rate and part's $12.000 is nothing

It's just as bad as the tinfoil POS bumper on the front of the Ranger.

Aside from the Wrangler, Jeeps are useless. Compass?? LOL!!!!

Yea, that what she has now they gave her 14k for the cammander and she bought a light blue Compass.:icon_rofl: I said thats not even considered a Jeep you can't even take it off road. Which she has no intentions of doing in the first place but still.

The Compass had to be in order to compete with the fuel efficient small SUV's from the Japanese companies. All of the US carmakers will soon realize you can't live on heritage anymore. Most consumers have gotten too smart for that.
