I-beam to IFS swap

I have a 94 ranger xlt 2wd with the infamous i-beam setup. And I had a question about the IFS on 98-newer ranger. Is it possible to do a complete front end or complete front clip swap to put the IFS on a 94 ranger?

What is wrong with an i-beam setup? It's been proven over several decades, has a lot less moving parts, easier to fix, and easier to mod.

sure anythings possible if you want to do it. if you really want to do i'd say it would be easier to just swap in a newer frame

extend cab frame is a direct swap 83-97 (minus the 2 radiator support mounts) and the regular cab frame use the 98+ cab, get a few more inches of space vs the 83-97 cab

just my opinion, gives you a chance to clean the frame up, and make it pretty 2

I've had the same thought for the RAT Ranger, as most responses to my R&P install thought on it have been negative due to the pivot points of the I-beams.................
I talked to one of my customers that has a body shop on Monday, and he told me I'd be lookin at $400-500 to put a 98up front stub on it.....so I'm figurin to do the swap, your gonna have that & $200+ for a good clip.....in my case, not sure it's worth it

if your goal is lowering and lots of aftermarket support, go for a toyota front clip.

search "yota clip swap" on the numerous ranger websites.

you could probably buy a wrecked yota and part out/scrap what you dont use, and break even/make money.

yep for lowering the yota clip is way better and pretty much lines right up. less camberissues and alot more aftermarket support.

So, it sounds like that the an 1st gen ranger body will bolt right up to a 98-newer ranger frame. If this true it would help me out with the planning stage that Im going throught for my project. Thanks

Nope, I replaced mine at 210k

The ones on the '03 I used to have started to go around 40K, and that truck was very gently driven!!

Yeah, but I'm not the one that revived it, lol.
