Alright, this might be a dumb question, but can you put Ford Explorer front and rear axles on a Bronco 2? I know the back one can be done, but what about the front? I was told they are both three inches longer.
My Bronco 2 is a 1990 and it has the dana 35 up front. I recently rolled it and I broke the front auto locking hubs (was going to replace them anyways).
If this is true, it'd be great to put this on my Bronco, but how much fabrication is needed to make this work for the Dana 35 up front? Or is it somehow a direct bolt in?

That article doesn't mention however, that if you use the transfer case and front shaft from the Explorer that the D35 is a 100% bolt in affair. Though if you already have one up front it will be anyway.

Very few Bronco II's actually have the Dana 35 in them.

All three of my '90's have had them.

If you already have the D35 in your BII, it makes no sense swapping in one from an explorer.....it's the same axle.

If you want to convert to manual hubs, that's a different story, you just need the hubs and the spindle nuts.

I think the late in the year production '90 BII's is the ones that had the Dana 35.

True dat homie.

Aren't the explorer axles abit wider? Even so, I'm going to check out the gear ratio in the explorer and compare it to my Bronco. Also, since I have recntly flipped my Bronco and the front axle is making some noise I think it might just be a quicker fix than tearing apart the axle I've got.

There is no width difference any of the Dana 35 TTB's.
