i have a 4 speed with Od or a 5 speed i dont know... but some one did a swap with a 2.8 and they have enough wire to hand your self and the whole town you live in to... im not kiddin you... a bird could live in it its such mess...

Have you considered just doing the Duraspark swap on the 2.8 to ditch the wiring and calling it good?

Idk I would like a reliable truck all this needs is a better motor how much is the explore motor worth that I bought? I still have the MCU from the factory I dont know how good it is though..
What could I do to have a solid motor and not spend a ton on as well I know I'm gonna have to spend money but if it's over 1500 I might aswell get a
Differant truck...

Can you tell me a year off those pics or tell me how I can tell the year...

The exact year isn't a big deal. The problem is that not only is it a fuel injected engine, it's an OBD-II system that is a ridiculous mess to swap into an OBD-I truck, much less a carbureted '84.

It would help to understand what problem you're trying to solve. Is there a specific probablem with your 2.8?

The oil rings are bad and the carb is crappy

Crappy carb is easy enough to fix. Are you sure it's the piston rings? Leaky valve seals are a common issue with the 2.8's and are MUCH easier to repair. Have you done a compression or leakdown test?

I havnt done a compession test yet... The carb is really cobbled they have a screw in the acclerator pump( that's what I call it on atvs) and there are bolts pluggin hoses... I would just like a fi motor that ran good and that would have alittle more hp.... What else could I do?

this code is also put onthe ECU plug in...
