Hey, I was wondering if anyone was running the jet performance module on there OHV 4.0 liter, and how much of a power and fuel economy difference it makes. I read that it is good for 30 horse on the 3.0 liter, is at about the same for the 4.0, Also, will it take care of my O2 sensor problems?

I'm pretty sure the Jet is a piggyback ECM 'chip'... I don't see how it can actually do anything, there isn't anyway you can change anything to increase horsepower by using a chip... Kinda like a Tornado or Cold air intake... More of a placebo thing...

So changing air/fuel management won't change performance or economy? Tell that to all the people with programmers. The chip is a more generic change because the EEC IV (OBD I ) is a lot less flexible and sophisticated the the OBD II systems that the programmers are for ( Bully Dog etc ). There are a number of articles if you search for them on how effective the Jet module is.

A programmer is different than a "piggyback chip". The Jet module will slide over the test port on the back of your computer. Problem is, Ford disabled this test port on an unknown amount of rangers, so even if the module did change the values within the computer for more power, the information wouldn't make it to the computer. As a matter of fact, the Jet Module has also been dynoed to REDUCE power.

Besides, I'm pretty sure the only way you can change fuel management is with an actual tuner (not that Hypertech crap)... I had a Hypertech for my Camaro and the only thing it could do was change shift points and fix my speedo and whatnot... POS if you ask me... The computer is set from the Ford factory to give the best combination of reliability, performance, and economy, and the one everybody wants to change (performance) will cost you the other two... I wouldn't touch a self programmer with a ten foot pole anymore...

Must have been an older LT1 car? We have a Hypertech for our F150 and it will change fuel and timing curves, shift points, rev limiter, speed limiter, ect...

Yeah, it's LT1, but it's OBDII... All the limiters it would change, but not fuel or timing curves... I still wouldn't want to change my fuel or timing curves with a handheld... I'd rather spend the money and have a professional dyno tune it...
