My friend's dad owns a logging company. The truck is a F250. The skitter is 25,000 lbs.

This is what a Ford can do

It's also squatting pretty bad. You can tell it shouldn't be carrying anywhere near that much weight.

my ranger is rated to tow like 1800lbs, towed close to i think 5800lbs? thats only a little more than 3times what it was rated for... lol.

That looks like an F-350 to me. I've never seen a dually F-250 in the Super Duty years.

25000lb isn't all that much. Depending on the year, I think the F-350's were rated to tow 24000lb on a fifth, so no big deal.

we sold sold our rubber tired backhoe last weekend and the guy showed up in a ranger to pick it up. well it was a 4.0l mazda but the tractor weighs well over 8000 pounds, i meant to take a picture but just couldnt do it i was so aaawwed. His leafs were bent backward over the helpers. I was surprized he wasnt doing a wheelie. I wish a would've snapped a pic....

we towed everything with our 95 f-150 with the 5.8 we may have only got 7 mpg while towing our jeep on the trailer everywhere we went but it pulled like it was nothing and kept us going to each gas station it also tows out tractor not sure how much it weighs its a kubota front end loader nothing to big.

Its fine. Just add 2 or 3 extra leaf springs and it will tow more.

thats why i love fords a chevy would crumble with that load

A while back I loaned my e250 to a friend who need to tow something.Well $2500 worth of damage to my tranny. My truck was never the same and ended up selling it.No these vehicles are not Peterbuilts.Go ahead, overload your truck, your mechanic will love you for it.

It may be able to pull the wieght OK, but the problem is when you need to stop. IMO

well i am my mechanic so do i love or hate myself for towing to much?

Both? Possibly you just haven't had the inevitable happen yet? Even Peterbilts have limits. Even if they are in excess of 85k pounds.

yeah did i mention tha old man didnt even have trailer brakes!!
