10 degrees BTDC. your '94 should still have a distributor...you dont need a chip or programmer to advance it, just a timing light.

i saw the thing about running premium, i'm wondering what i can get it to on regular, or maybe mid grade. my truck is a monster, i don't think it pings.

you dont gain anything from running premium on a stock engine with stock timing. advancing the timing isnt as good as raising compression to take full advantage of higher octane fuels, but it is effective. im actually saving money by running premium with 25* base timing due to the increase in economy i recieved. i didnt notice any change in power output.
